Default Autozone calipers....

anyone replace their calipers with rebuilt ones from Autzone and not be able to get new rotors and or pads on. No matter what I try, when I put new rotors on and test drive it, both calipers are holding the rotors. I could hardly swing the caliper back over the pads when reinstalling them. I even tried new pads on the old rotors, still too tight.
Yes the piston was pushed all the way in.
I even exchanged the calipers with other ones (same brand) hoping that the rebuilder screwed up and mislabeled these. Same results.
If I can figure this out I won't be able to ever change my rotors or pads unless they're cut down first (seems kind of pointless).

Ideas? I'm about half way through these pads!

If you went through two pairs, I doubt it's the calliper.

I think so too, that's what pisses me off. I was thinking the rotors but they say they're all made to be within certain specs (cheap or cheaper rotors). Then I was thinking the knuckles got bent somehow, but I just recently did the wheel bearings and don't want to replaced them again.

I used to have serious dragging issues, turned out it was a bad brake booster.

Are we talking front or rear here?

Also your rotor COULD be warped not sure though. I'd just go get some at autozone unless there brand spankin new.

a warped rotor wouldn't cause dragging or effect his ability to fit the caliper on (unless it was ungodly warped)... it would just make vibration under braking

Is this the reason why you replaced the calipers in the first place?

I replaced the calipers because they were leaking at the seals. The rotors I have and can't fit are brand new (except for the groove that was cut in the first time I took it around the block for a test drive).

I even replaced the rebuilt ones with others. I pushed the piston in too far and tore the seal trying to get enough room for the new rotors to fit.

By the way, the right side grabs more than the left side when I try the new rotor setup. I'm thinking that the replacement knuckles I have on the car now are bent from previous owners, the right must be bent more than the left????

I've tried to sand down new pads to get some more room, no luck.

I guess when it's time to replace the rotors I have two options:
Cut down the rotors or replace the knuckles.
