Just wondering..... but why does everyone go with an LS block opposed to a GSR block? Aren't you loosing the oil squirters that Vtec blocks have?

Well, usually when people do an LS/VTEC they do a full overhaul. From what I've heard the oil squirters aren't as much a nessesity when you got better rods and bearings and stuff.

increased compression, giving you more power. But unless the bottom end of the LS portion of this motor is built right, the things don't last worth a crap.

LSvtec Turbo = deadly! :chuckles:

Reconsider LS/VTEC if you thinking about it. If you can go straight GSR motor with a VTEC head. GSR Motor is built for more power and if you thinking about NOS or turbo then thats the way to go. Well, the reason I am telling you now is I have 3 LS block laying in my garage right now and each of them was blown one way or another. I just did a swap with straight GSR and things are looking up. If you want to do LS/VTEC it wont be reliabe and you will end up blowing it soon. It is true that it will give you more low-end torque but still things always go wrong. Put it this way, I have to put a reminder on my cellphone to check the oil and coolant every Monday because it suck up lots of oil. Take it from me or spend money to learn a hard lesson (in my case its LESSONS) its up to you. Just think about this real quick, those guys at Honda aren't stupid, well except when they designed the Element......other than that they would have mass produce something like the LS/VTEC if they found it powerful and reliable at the same time. Something to think about...

I've seen more LS/VTEC's still run more than I've seen blown. It's all on who builds them.
