I got around to checking my ECU codes because the check engine light was on for a little while, ( used the paper clip method ).


I turned codes 41, 72 and 74

Thats:

41 -Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater circuit malfunction
72 -Cylinder 2 Misfire or a Random Misfire a condition is present that is creating a cylinder misfire
74 -Cylinder 4 Misfire or a Random Misfire a condition is present that is creating a cylinder misfire



With limited know how but excellent follow directions skills, any way I can fix this myself or should I take it in somewhere?


Any ideas?

Going to change out the plugs and wires... any other ideas?

Probably need a new oxygen sensor, or something is disconnected. A tune up wouldn't hurt for the misfires. Oxygen sensor problems can cause lean or rich mixtures, too.

The oxygen sensor is contributing to the misfire because you are running lean.

Alrite. So change out the O2 sensor then also?

Try just the O2 first, have you noticed it bogging down lately?

Actually yea I didnt think about it but I did.

But would that only effect the 2nd and 4th? Insted of sending signals on all 4?
