It's not the wheel but the tire size you buy. For a Civic you need a 205/45x16" tire.

Although I don't think 16x8" would fit a Civic without fender modifications. I ran 16x7.5" wheels and would rub pretty bad with 205/45x16"

I used to have 18" wheels with 215/35R18 tires on mine they only rubbed when you turned the wheel all the way over. I believe they were 7.5" also. Not bad becuase you only needed to turn that much to park.

About the speedometer though, I noticed about a 1 mph difference for every 20mph I drove. For example, at 60mph it was off by 3mph (faster). I measured this by driving alongside my wife's civic, so it's not perfectly accurate, but should give you an idea.

my speedometer is off with my 15x6.5 rims on 205/50 rubber. Speedo shows 45, but radar signs show me going 40

205/50x15" is geared a bit lower than stock. But also realize that the speedo on most cars are off by 2-3mph.

found this great site..

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

enter in your stock tire size, and then what your lookin at goin and it gives you a visual comparison (front or side view) and also tells you how much your speedo will be off.

pretty nifty

eh, I don't mind too much. it keeps me from getting pulled over :exnbp:

alot of cars I've driven at work have fairly accurate speedos, again according to those signs.
