Default `95 DX Brakes+

I've had my civic since I was 17. I always test drive new cars, and love them, but when I get back in my civic, it feels like home. So, I think I've finally decided to ditch the new car idea and dump lots of cash into my baby. What I need to know is if I can do a rear disc conversion on a DX. I've seen the kits for EX models, but I'm not sure how they're different. Also, any other information on what I should add/improve to get everything up to par (engine comes later) would be appreciated. Right now I'm just looking to get it handling better, overall.

Also, it has a tendancy to vibrate a bit more around 85-90mph. I'm somewhat worried that this might not go away with suspension work, but I'm not exactly sure what it is. ideas?

thanks

look for any rear disc brakes from an Si 5th or 6th gen or any integra that has rear discs will fit perfectly....anyhow..it vibrates b/c your rotors are probably warped..just get them resurfaced

vibration at 90, check your wheel balance.

you can proly get a conversion off a teg for the rear drums, AEM could cost you 600+. This has been covered many times so:

yeah, I guess I wasn't thinking proper search syntax when I looked before. I just did a search for "rear conversion" and found it. sorry `bout that.

maybe somebody should compile a page of all the frequently asked stuff in an easy to navigate directory.

nice pic tho. I always thought penny was hot.

I know Jon (ManinCamo) would have a fit if he saw this thread, so I'll try to cover most of it for you. You can get the rear suspension parts off the 5th gen Si or the 2nd gen teggy. Make sure that you also get the e-brake cables, the proportional valve and the master cylinder and booster. Although I've heard that you could get the same results with just the prop valve.

While you're doing this swap, I'd advise on new pads and rotors all the way around and invest in a set of steel braided brake lines. Now would also be a good time to invest in a rear lower tie bar and/or rear sway bar since you'll be messing with those parts anyways. Might as well get all of that taken care simultaneously. Save on installation costs if you plan on having someone else install these for you.
