'94 Civic A/C problem

'94 Civic A/C problem
I have a '94 Honda Civic and the A/C is not working. I found out that the fuse under the hood is blowing, thus not allowing cold air. It still blows air just fine. If I replace the fuse, cold air will blow for several hours, then the fuse will blow again. Obviously it's some sort of wiring problem. How would I go about troubleshooting this? Is it a bad idea to put a larger fuse in there and see if it lasts longer? Hopefully some of ya'll can help me out. Thanks in advance!

i just went throught the same problem with my car . .98 civic. and they said the problem started with the evaporator, which is under the dashboard, behind the the glove box. it basically has alot of the electrical stuff with it and they said it was fried. it would have been a $1500 dollar job if i didnt have the extened insurence policy for used hondas. i hope its not that for you because they had 4.5 hrs labor on there. they also replaced my condesor too(another 2 hours of labor), but it sounds like your problem could be your evaporator, but i could be wrong. i hope this can help you out. -ben

get yourself a good ole DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) and a wiring diagram for the ac system...trace the line from the fuse back and start checking wires. what are the conditions when the fuse blows...is it after hitting a bump, etc...I would put money on a short to ground somwhere where a wire has rubbed through the coating and is grounding and blowing the fuse.

Same problem with my 96 ex
I'm having the exact same problem, but it's my condensor fan fuse that's blowing and mine only lasts for like 10-15 minutes. It doesn't seem to be consistent with any movement of the car, (i can just leave the car in park and it will blow) i checked the ground on the fan and it seems fine, i unbolted it and cleaned it with contact cleaner then rebolted and that didn't help anything. Is there anywhere online that i could look at the wiring for this?
