Why is it that even though the JDM H22a type s puts down 220hp and 161trq @ about 10.5 compression, everybody still has the B series motors? Thats the same numbers as the Kseries and is less than half the cost. Just curious.

Because the B series came in civics stock in JDM land, and thus B series like to go into civics quite abit easier then an H.

Lots of cutting+diff mounts+heartache/headaches with an H into a civic swap, also doesnt sit well with the stock suspension (or so I hear)

and from a forced induction side of things, H series aren't real boost whores, and that whole thing comes with a whole new set of problems when you try to throw boost at them.

I have two freinds with H22A swaps, and they are smooth as silk.

with the HASport kit there is very little cutting, hell all you gotta do is BFH a section of the fram rail for the pulley clearance....the weight difference is neglidgable.

I'd say because eventhough there are a lot of h22 swaps, b's are more common grounds.

Oh that's cool. I guess I was just emphasizing that it is a more difficult swap, as the B never came stock in any of the Civics. I think that they are becoming more commonplace then they once were, but the sheer cost and availability of the B series is just so astounding I doubt we will see more and more H swaps.
