Default how to fix a crack in the windshield

my mom was driving and a pebble or something hit the windshield and she was telling me that its gonna cost her like 1000 dollars to get a new windshield from the dealer
i know you cant make it like new
but i was wondering if there are any like OTHER solutions to this problem

you can see from the pics that its actually just one spot that cracekd
BUT THEN everyday it just "walks" a little further
and now there is like a crack half way across the windshield..
anything i can do to patch it up or stop the glass from cracking anymore

or is there anything i can use to slow the cracking?

thanx

Once the crack is throughout the entire windshield, you're just gonna have to get a whole new one. Sorry.

an btw if u do have glass coverage do not go to the company your ins recommends to replace it..it will not me a oem glass it will be a cheap knock off make....ins. companies dont like to pay $$$ call around and find a place that replaces oem glass and go to them your ins. will still have to pay all fees....

all i know about her car insurance is that she has a 1000 deductible or something like that...
so im not sure how all of that works...
if she does have full coverage will her insurance premium go up because of this?

first...call ins. and verify coverage that u have...

2nd...if u have glass coverage find a shop that replaces oem windshields...

if u dont have glass coverage its up to u what glass u want oem or aftermarket...
