why is it overheating?
Everytime when I turn on the a/c in my civic and leave it running for more than 5 minutes during idle, I see the temperature needle going up. Why is this happening? I already check the coolant, both fans are running fine, and I also got a new thermostat. I have never had this problem with my car until about 2 weeks ago when it happen. By any chance, do u think that the timing belt could affect the overheating? The reason why I brought this up is because ever since its was changed, the belt has been making this low whining sound randomly and I think its stressing out the engine. Any explanation?

belt is too tight. as far as overheating, now that we know this much you have tried. Verify the thermostat you installed has a flow-back valve in it (a little metal squashed peanut shaped on the side of it.) . If it did and you did run heat with cap off and the correct coolant process. then you probally got a stopped up orifice/expansion valve or the drier is flooded with ac dye and oil. one other thing. verify the whinning is not your compressor that could also cause problems.
