Strange Starting problem
I have a 1990 civic DX hatchback and I've been having some starting problems.
Sometimes it will start fine then the next time I go to start it...nothing...it's not even turning the motor over...just silence. Then I may try it again...maybe hours or days later and it will start again...without me doing anything. It will work for a few days then I'll get the starting problem again.
I've changed the battery with a new one, but this did not solve the problem. When I jump start the honda with my Jeep I can get it to start.
Now before I invest in replacing the started could it be something else?

If the starter doesnt "Click" sometimes you could have a problem with either the ignition switch or the starter relay or starter solenoid. If the brushes in the starter were the only problem then you would at least hear the solenoid in the starter go "Click". Could also be an intermittent bad connection somewhere.
