I had the same problem come to find out i was nearly out of brake fluid.Just check your brake fluid that is most likely what it is!That or there is a problem with your brakes but if u havnt noticed then its the old Brake-fluid!

usually there is a switch contact that needs to be made i.e. normally closed, so when you raise the parking brake handle the switch opens thus light comes on and vice versa. Check that if fluid level?? ok
