just do the job right!

cut off anything that even resembles rust.. onces it's 100% gone, then you can weld in your pre-formed peice of metal & use some body filler to form/shape the rest & smooth out the roughness! be sure that after your done with your body work that you undercoat the entire area that you have just worked on so that it can't begin to rust on the back side & then come through

yup, thats the way to do it... the right way. then undercoat it. yes you could get the wide body kit for it, but that is not a good idea. it will cover the rust for the time being, but the rust will just grow, and eventually your kit will fall off your car, because the metal that it used to hold onto, rusted all out. lol, i know its annoying, i had the same problem.

rust is like cancer. you need to rid of it before it gets worst. you cant just cover it up and hope it goes away.

I here ya. Even undercoating doesn't work. It just postpones it. I even take it to Ziebart yearly and yet it's slowly rusting around the rear wheel well. Although, it has less rust than others I've seen on the road around here in the Toronto area. Quite a few years back, someone was selling something that would apply a constant voltage/charge to your car to prevent the rust from happening. Not sure what become of that. Eventually, I'll have to take it to a shop to get it done properly. I just wish Honda would make rear quarter panels that are removable and not part of the whole bloody car.
