hey, be careful with that breaker bar or it will own up to its name. sure did in my situation. air tools didnt work and i broke both the lca bolt and lower strut bolt. heres a pic.
How did you take them out? That has happen to me to many times and it sucks
My LCA bolt is fairly new with antiseize on it. I have no clue what the 10 year old strut bolt thats braved 10 new england winters is going to look like though.
raise a glass to newenglad for that bullshit. not only are the roads so ridden with potholes that it forces you to replace suspension far sooner than anywhere else in the country, it also makes it a bitch to get the suspension out when you do have replace it. unfortunatly i learned from my experience that once you snap those you are forced get a new lca. SO BE CAREFUL! the worst is on the bolt that holds the strut, it is encased in a rubber bushing so when you turn it it flexes, you cant even tell when you are going to snap it, it just happens.
Um, well I'm goin out to autozone to get my axles and to rent a ball joint splitter. Do I need to rent a spring compressor too? On that DIY from H-T when he put the coil-over on and reinstalled the whole assembly it didn't show him compressing anything, just when he had to remove the stock spring.
