FWD Traction
Hello fellow import lovers i was wandering since the RWD has better traction than a FWD is there any mods that can be sone or any bolt-ons that will even or help the FWD traction advantage?
Thanks
Thanks
What gives you the idea that FWD has worse traction? After all, in FWD cars the engine and tranny are sitting on top of the drive wheels, as opposed to RWD where all there is above the drive wheels is the car's body. If you are having traction problems, an LSD and/or ladder bars (traction bar) could help. I won't recommend any particular brands since I don't have any experience with either.
I wont even go there...
Hmmm. Let me think,,,, Since you know so much about RWD, tell me, what do you use to gain traction on a RWD car?
Maybe?:
? Limited Slip ?
? Traction Bars ?
Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!

Also, cars with a smaller wheelbase are less affected by the weight transfer, and as speeds of a particular course go down (ie like in AutoX) the amount of benefit the weight transfer has is much less significant.
For improved FWD traction, try stiffining the rear suspension so the car doesn't lurch backwards as you step on the gas. Stiffing the front gives more uniform grip as you accelerate.
