Probably not. This was previously mentioned. The inside of the doors stay dry as long as you have good belt mouldings at the tops of the doors (base of the windows). I only know they're called belt mouldings because both of mine are missing now after getting my car painted, the replacements aren't here... and it's threatening rain all week. I'm freakin'.

Taking off the door panel should never scare anyone. If you have manual windows, bend a coathanger like this...

U <-small 180° bend

...and you can get that behind the door handle to pop the retaining clip out... so you won't break your plastic window crank.
