I'm looking at a Type I Gearspeed transmission to put on a 96 EX. Its an LX model, but is a pretty good deal.

What would be the downside (or upside) to doing this? My tranny grinds into 3rd gear, and I recently started noticing some kind of bearing whine when the clutch is out.

i got bearing whine toooo. just noticed it. what the hell is that? do i need to replace the tranny fluid? or could it be somthing worse. i do NOT want to have my tranny rebuilt.
