Default Crank Removal

Hey guys..

In the pic.. as you can see.. i've got the right side (rear main seal) removed & crank wants to come out.. but how bout the other side.

the crank pulley is removed from the other side which you can't see & the only other thing on there is the spindle that the timing belt spins on.. anyways.. whats the trick to gettin the crank out from here.. do i have to take those phillips screws out that i can see in the pic?

Everything on the timing belt side has to be removed
Oil pump, timing gear, pulley, etc
All of it

The gear on the crank that the timing belt rides on just slips off.... you jut need to pull it... it may need a little tough-love.

Remove the oil pump. Once its off there will be nothing holding the crank in, so make sure you don't drop it

^Right. You'll have to wiggle it off. You did take the key off right (that little metal rectagle thing)?
You may want to use a gear puller, if you have access to one.
After that unbolt and remove the oil pump.
Pull out the crank (it is heavier than you may think)

it took awhile for me to get that one gear with the tiny rectangle key holding it on off it was such a bitch for some reason. and yea the crank is heavier then you would think bout 35 pounds. why u taking it off anyway.

Yeah, that son'fa'bish looks cute and all, but you won't realize how heavy it is until you pick it up.

just unbolt the oil pump and pry it away from the block. It is common, the oil pump has a small bead of sily cane, holding it and can seem tough, in theroy . BTW< replace the pump gears ,and relief spring on a rebuild.
