I need help. I have installed a 2nd gen B16A in my 95 Civic CX. The stock CX throttle cable is too long. I'm trying to avoid the whole "ghetto-rigging" of the cable with zip-ties, adapter brackets, etc. I know I can buy a 94-97 del Sol DOHC VTEC throttle cable and that supposedly will work, but I'm looking at the picture of the Honda parts and can't decide what I actually need to buy.



I'm not sure, but it looks like part#11 is the inside the cabin piece, and then part#9 looks like it goes from the firewall to the throttle body. Is this correct? Then a guy from Majestic Honda (didn't sound quite right, but maybe) said I just had to buy part#14, the bracket to make the stock CX one work.. can anyone tell me what I need to buy? Thanks.

 

I used the braket that came with the new motor and a del sol throttle cable.

 

That's what I'm looking to buy is the Del Sol DOHC VTEC throttle cable. My question is which image on this diagram is that cable? The Honda parts website doesn't make it too incredibly clear.

None, those cables just go from the pedal to the firewall, just go to the parts dept. at honda tell them what you want and they'll order it.

 

Ok, I'm planning on going to Honda tomorrow I guess. Just to double check though... The the entire throttle cable two pieces (pedal->firewall,firewall->throttlebody)? or is it one piece that goes thru the firewall (pedal->throttlebody)? I just don't know if I'm asking Honda for one piece or two, etc. If it's two pieces will I need both the inside piece and outside? I've never taken apart a throttle cable before. Any insight would be perfect. Thanks.

 

its one peice for the engine bay, nothing else. Nothing gets taken apart. The cable goes straight through the fire wall to the top of your pedal, (from the trottle body).
