Default polishing lip on rota slips

well im planning on polishing the lip on my 15" flat black rota slips. but im not quite sure what too polish. i know that rota sells gun metal w/ a polished lip, but are only the spokes gunmetal or is some of the lip painted gunmetal. i found a diy on here and the guy polished the whole lip, so the only thing black was the spokes. im not quite sure if i like just the spokes black and was wondering how the slips that come with the polished lip look like. anybody got any close up pics of em?

heres a pic of the slips with just the spokes black

You should leave the spokes the same color. The wheel done on the left is what looks right, regardless of what Rota does.

But I think a polished lip on a single piece wheel looks silly... but that's me.

seriously in my opinion, i like the way the Rotas are originally. The flat black is a great look.

i dunno...i just dont think that they stand out too much because they kinda blend in with the tire. i think that if the lip was polished, the edge of the wheel would be defined and they wouldnt blend in with the tires as much. as for the picture i posted. i think that too much of the lip is polished and that the inner part of it should be black, so that not just the spokes are black. i was just wondering how rota does theirs so i can compare my idea. still lookin for some closeups of the gunmetal w/ polished lip if anyones got them!

Youre right, they do blend in with the tire. That is the whole point. It seriously looks sic. I love the black on black look. Again, thats my opinion. Its your car, your imagination. Thats what modin' you car is all about. Just dont rice 'er up.

I'm contemplating whether i should polish mine as well... i got the black on black thing going, but like you guys have said, the rim blends in with the tire... then it looks like a hub if you arent close enough. lol
