I did exactly what you are about to do with the intent of going to an alignment shop but I never went to an alignment shop. Bec after I installed the camber kit in the front (skunk2 adj. upper arms) the alignment was so bad I couldnt make full turns, I bought some string, a plum bob and an angle level with the idea that I would temporarily align it but I had to get into it so much that I was figuring things out on my own, and although it took me many hours the car drives straight as an arrow and I dont think Ill ever have to pay anyone to align my car ever again.

Just because a car drives straight doesn't mean the alignment is good. When I purchased my car in February. It drove straight too. I autocrossed it at a couple of events and did ok. Car was tail happy.

Took it in to get an alignment and this is what it was:

Front:
Camber Right = -3.8
Camber Left = -2.8

Rear
Camber Right = -2.6
Camber Left = -2.2

Front:
Toe Right = .10 toe out
Toe Left = .4 toe out

Rear
Toe Right = .3 toe out
Toe Left = .3 toe out

Yes, toe will kill your tires so much quicker than camber. h:

I was assuming that the toe would not change, so the only thing he would have to contend with is camber which will have a negligent effect on tire wear during a 45 minute freeway cruise.

true but any slight change in camber will GREATLY change the toe. camber changin .5 degrees can throw toe off by about

true but any slight change in camber will GREATLY change the toe. camber changin .5 degrees can throw toe off by about the 1 degree. and toe CHEWS through tires. id manually adjust the toe with a tape measure in the drive way, usually u want the front of the tire to be 1/16 or 1/8 less than the rear of the tire, its not exact, but it will save some tread, btw, 18 wheelers are aligned like this (tape measure), they have no camber or caster just toe

I am going to let a shop do it, but now I need to know what a decent price is, because all of the places around here have a bad reputation.

Whats an all around average price for a 4 wheel alignment?

depending on the shop, and ur car, if u have all the aftermarket camber adjusters, a honest shop will do it for about 59.95 and adjust the camber on it. most crooks will just set the toe and let it go.

59 is our price including adjusting whatever is adjustable, some shops might charge u for having to adjust ur aftermarket parts (easy moeny to get from you)
but we consider it part of the alignment, only thing we charge extra is ford 1 tons and the camber caster bushing installation, but thats a indepth job, honestly
