Default 96 civic bumper question

I just bought a 96 civic 4 door from a friend of mine that was in a wreck right before i bought it. The rear bumper was knocked off, and the reinforcement bar was knocked down a little on the left side. I'm not sure if im going to go ahead and get a full kit yet, or just get a cover for now, but i was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. What would i need to do to put the bumper on, and could i do it myself? I havent worked on cars much, but im really good with my hands, and get the hang of things once i started working on it. If anyone could help me out, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.

probably just has some plastic and a couple metal screws holding it on.

Take a hammer and hammer the reinforcement bar back into place, and then install the bumper cover. if it doesn't fit well with the gaps, take it back off, and hammer it some more until you get it right
