Ok, I'm going to take my VTEC selinoid valve off and look at it, what should I look for as far as problems go. I know clogging, anything else?

And for the second. Can I use my IAT sensor from my 1.5 on my b16? It's a bad sensor, and the honda place wants I think they said 125$ for a new one.

aw stick a 15kohm resistor in the iat. and solenoid. i think you should hit it with a hammer.

I used the civic one for a while, but I was worried it was different so I just got one for a GSR from www.sohfast.com. Still works and it's been a couple years now.

There's a screen in the vtec solenoid. Check that to be sure there's nothing blocking it. Also, check the seal to be sure it's not allowing oil to seep into sections that it shouldn't.

Do I need to drain my oil when I take the valve off? I know the vtec works with oil pressure so I didn';t know if i needed to or not/
