Default Civic clutch adjustment??????

I have a 1999 Honda Civic DX. I replaced the pressure plate, clutch, and flywheel to a XTD stage 3 setup with a light weight flywheel and a "pad" or "puck" type design clutch. With the old clutch being VERY worn it engaged about 2 inches from being all the way out. After I finished and bled the clutch I drove it and it engaged at the same spot as the worn clutch. I was told by some guy I was supposed to adjust something in the tranny before I put it back together because it was a racing clutch and not a stock replacement. What do I do? how do I adjust this thing or if that guy was wrong what do I do??????? Please help!

hmm, well im not sure on this but i'll try... have you tried bleeding the clutch fluid?(i think its brake fluid, just read up on that part) if not you should try that, make sure to have the fluid(again, i think its brake fluid, might be DOT4, but im not sure, check that too) so it doesnt empty out then u have quite a bit of air in the lines, so have someone press and release clutch and you watch fluid levels until u see no spurting and is just a stream of fluid coming out...

it might have to be aligned a little differently then a stock one, but im not sure on that so someone correct me if im wrong

and about the backwards thing, does the car move? or not? cause if it does move i dont think you have it in backwards... http://img284.echo.cx/my.php?image=clutch9tf.png

i think in the red is the front of the clutch so that part circled in red should be facing the tranny when installed? again someone can correct me on that lol

ive never done a clutch install before, but i am planning to over summer.

I always adjusted my clutch engagement/pressure by bleeding the clutch to hell.

There is an adjustment rod at the top of the pedal.
Loosen the lock nut, spin the rod to adjust. Dont forget the adjust the cruise adj. too (if you have it)
Chances are you wont get it right the first time...you'll have to play with different adjustments of the rod before you get it right.

Just know that you can screw this up. The first time I did mine I had it too far in and the cluch pressure would be too high, press on the arm and cause the disc to slip. Too little and the pedal will be loose as hell.

Default hmmmmm

I slips really bad to I was thinking it was the pressure plate??????? It acually shifts softer than a stock clutch lol. When I shift it slows me down speed and rpms.... like a really big expensive brake

the lighter flywheel is causing the RPM to drop so suddenly...as to the slippage, you usually have to break in clutches for 500-1000-5000 miles depending on the specs f/ the manufacturer before "Beating" on it or it will glaze over, causing it to slip, and you need to break it in again.
