Default motor and 1st upgrade

hi im a nub, ive got a 99 civic ex and was wondering what motor it had / is it vtech and what would the best 1st upgrade be?

1. it's not vtech.. it's VTEC
2. yes.. your car comes with Vtec even though it doesnt say it on your valve cover
3. Air intake and a descent suspension with a SI sway bar are the first best things u can buy for your car
4. You have a D16Y8 with 127HP

what good does the sway bar do? do you notice any difference?

the stabilizer bar(sway bar) keeps your car from "body roll" in which the car tends to lean to either side while turning corners. It also transfers braking forces from the wheels to the frame of the car. It does what it says, so yeah u'll notice somewhat of a difference. As for upgrades, invest in basic bolt-ons, Intake, Hedder, Exhaust. Its all up to you and how much money your willing to spend.

And don't expect crazy gains from minor bolt-ons.
