Im going to get a motor swap for my civic but Im not sure if I can put a JDM motor in and still be legal. Can I only put in the USDM motor? It would be nice to put in the B18c 96-97 type R motor but HMO only has the JDM. Id like the 200 HP. :chuckles: Itd make it really fun to upgrade.

I dont get why it wont be legal either??? As long as the engine is from the same year car it should be ok atleast thats how i understand it.....

Ive got a 97 civic coupe and I live in suck sh!t CA. I dont know if that has any reason to change but if I can put a JDM in my car then Ill definitely do it.

Also, can I fit the F20 in my car or is that just overkill.

I was doing some research with the help of the search button :thumbup: and I read that the B18 Gsr is not only cheaper on Hmotors, but is also easier and cheaper to upgrade than the B18 type R. That being said, can the difference in horsepower (20-30) be made up with intake, exhaust from the headers back, upgraded fuel system(fuel rail, injectors, pumps, and regulators), ignition system and maybe a turbo? I REALLY like to drive the hell out of my car and my stock DX sux bad. Also when I do the swap, Im going to have them replace the stock clutch and flywheel. If I get the GSR I could prolly do the swap by August and I really want to have the other goodies put on. Are there any other hidden costs partswise that I need to be prepared for or does the complete change over that Hmotors sells come with everything I need? Anyone who has done a motor swap please help and let me know about how long the swap takes too. Thanks in advance for everyone helping the nub.
