Default Gas/Engine Question... Newbie...

so ive planned on getting the b16a 1st generation engine swap for my 91 hb si.... my question is though... with the b16a having a 10.2 compression ratio will it still run on regular gas 87-88 octane..i am new to all this and this is something i definetly don't know anything about, appreciate the help.. thanks

any B series engine with VTEC is required by honda to only run on 91+ octane fuel. if you use anything lower it wont have any catastrophic affects immediately, but in the long-run it will. just use 91 or higher for the sake of your engine.

do you know what kind of mileage i'd be getting with this engine? 11.9gallon gas tank... i'm a daily driver.. ill be poor paying 2.88 for a gallon of supreme fuel 91+

probebly like 250ish mile per tank if you dont drive aggressively on the motor.

u'll get better gas milage than stock vehicle due to less weight to pull around.

Yea, you can definatly run 91 octane fuel in there at that compression!

Well, I'm getting my b16's first full tank tomorrow 2.87$ for 93 I think. YAY FOR ME! With my 1.5l I'd fill up on 87 on a sunday and have to refill on saturday. Those days are gone.
