Default IAC problem causing jerking

Every once in a while my check engine light comes on and it iss throwing the Idle Air control valve error. And what my car does is everytime I step on and let off the gas the car bucks kind of like if a person does not know how to drive a stick, but I am not using the clutch at all its just the gas pedal. Then It stops and a couple of days later the check engine light will turn off. It was not very bad before just anoying but it is getting worse and happening more often.

Is this the idle air control valve doing this
I don't want to fix it if it is not becasue it is $190 for a new one.

Any suggestions.

I have a used one to sell you for $75 shipped. But read the Helms if you are unsure about the IACV.

go to your local junk yard.. they usually they have no idea what it is & u tell them that it's a "coolant thingy" & they charge me like 5 or 10 bucks! worth changing for that amount.

but as far as the car bucking like that.. normally if they IACV is having issues the car will just idle up & down real funny while u'r sittin there.. bucking it not a normal symptom.. u might want to look at your ignition or fuel system for the bucking related issue.

or take it off and just clean the screen with throttle body cleaner or break cleaner.

Yes, I would try cleaning it first. I have one laying around, where are you located?

Default Cleaned the IACV

I cleaned the IACV and the car did great for like 150 miles then it started jerking again. And the CEL came on right before it started jerking like it always does.

I too have one for sale *working*. I thought that was my problem, spent $150 for a new one, and I still have the same problem, so I know my old one is working.

I talked to the dealership and they said it could be the EGR valve, could this be casuing it and it is throwing a IAC code. It just seems to be getting worse and worse.
