Default '94 Civic SI -- break light switch?

The brake lights on my '94 Civic aren't working at all. The normal taillights come on fine when the exterior lights are on, but when the brakes are on, the taillights don't get brighter like they're supposed to, and also the 3rd brake light on the spoiler doesn't light up either. I've already checked all the bulbs and fuses.

Somebody told me it might be the brake light switch. Does anyone know where it's located? Is it somewhere near the brake pedal itself, and what does it look like? Thanks~

it's at the top of the brake pedal. it's got a threaded part and a nut and there is a plunger that sticks out when the pedal is pressed. that's how my crx is, anyway.
