Ok a friend of mine just got a nisssan maxima and he is willing to cut me a huge deal on all his honda stuff.

he had a 1992 acura integra with an si motor in it. The only problem is the tranny is gone. Other then the b16 he also has a b18b block and another si head to go with it. He said he will give me all of it for a grand. The car the 2 blocks and the 2 heads. He said that there is no tranny because the b16 block did not come with one and the ls tranny blew. He said both blocks would have to be built.

no cracks or anything like that either.
Is this worth it. I would think so he says he has no use for it any more but wants to help build my motor up. How much would it cost to build a ls/vtec if i have the block and heads and only need the tranny? Worst case senerio what if the parts are in bad shape but not cracked or anything is it cheaper to buy from hmotrs or just build from what i have.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!

ps. also im driving a 2000 ek and trying to go turbo in the near future. aiming for around 250-300 whp. ls/vtec my best bet or should i go b18b keeping in mind the parts i have.

 

Id jump on that, a rolling shell, two decent looking blocks, and a decent heads?

sounds WAAAAY too good to be true, if you didnt know the guy id say dont do it.

Then again, it could be stolen, but yeah i would jump on it.

 

I would totally buy all that shit up for a grand....sell the b16a for a grand, sell the other si head for 500, buy a b18b head and internals, tranny with the money u made from the other sales....boost it....love it.

im just wondering why your friend is being sooo generous.... my friends are nice they give me sway bars, strut towers, shocks or what not... but no way they would ever sell me a car, and basically 2 engines for 1K..... when they know they can get more for it.

 

well imma take some pix of it this week sometime and i will post up. I figure even in the worst case senerio its still a good deal. Would it be cheaper to buy a ready made b18b or build up the one i have. The motor in the teg the b16 he said spun a bearing how bad can that be? i have never built a motor and plan on going turbo so i figure while the b18b block is out and everything it might be cheaper to buy all turbo parts for it and get her going. With the block sleeved how much more can i be looking at to get her running not including the tranny. i kno maybe some pistons and rods but what else makes up a motor. PLEASE HELP ME!!!
