Default B18C5 Boostage?

Got a C5 all lined up to throw at my 98 EK. Thanks to this site i got all the info i need. Once i get some money saved up again, i was thinking of supercharging it. What kind of boost can i stuff in there with stock internals?

well, the ITR engine has some really high compression, so im thinking just slapping on the supercharger wouldnt be too bad for the motor while in stock form. if you get the jackson racing supercharger, i wouldnt think its a good idea to run the high boost pulley on it while the motor is stock. im not too sure though, so dont quote me.

I'm thinking if this is your definite plan and you haven't bought the c5 yet, to save some dough and get the c1 swap and charge that. Less chance to go boom.

Nothings definite yet, but i do want to go FI in the future. I was lookin at a C1 but i couldn't pass up a 4500$CDN C5, all inclusive. Only worry is private sale.

HOLY CRAP.. put u'r money away!

4500 for a swap that u'r going to boost! haha.. time to study

just buy a b18b & throw the boost on that! u'll be much happier.. u can run 10 - 12lbs on stock internals due to the compression difference.

the reason that i point this out is because you said that you DO PLAN to go FI, there for, high compression motor is not what u should be looking for.

hope this info helps ya out.

FYI, B18a + sleeves & all forged internals costed me 3500

Yeah, the b1 is nice due to low compression, but the tranny sucks and lack of oil squirters and limited rev range kills that idea for me. The c1 can still handle an adequate amount of boost with proper tuning. Plus.... Vtech rules. 1.2 Ghz of cam lift h:

yes the tranny does suck...
however alot of people plug up oil squiters when running forged pistons and decent rods because they are not necessary.

c1 is definately nice, but expensive

how do the cylinder temperatures stay down with different pistons? I suppose they aren't necessary, but every factory turbo car that I've seen has them.
