Default o2 sensor problem...Help...

well... i have a 96 civic hatchback and i just got headers. I hooked up the headers but i had to extended the wires but i accidently left the wire danggling by the down pipe and the wires melted. Now my CHL is on and my speedometer doesn't work. I tried rewiring the wires and resetting the computer and even got a new o2 sensor but still the same problem. Do if anyone knows wats wrong reply asap.. thanks.....

Sounds like a vehicle speed sensor problem to me, take the car to autozone and have them scan it for free. THen come back with what code it's displaying and we can go from there. I just replaced my o2 with a universal bosch and i rewired mine and it works perfect...let me know.

well it's kinda hard to help ya without knowing the codes themselves...
Just have it scanned and check out what the exact codes are i can then look them up at work and give you diagnositc steps on how to fix them.
