I know this is the Civic forum, but I need a quick answer, and there are more members here than any other forum. Well, I had my system hooked up, but it looked like crap, so I took it apart and re-arranged it so that it looked better(2 10's, 2 JBL amps, and 1 capacitor) well, now if I turn it up very loud, my midrange amp cuts out and goes into protection mode, while the sub amp continues to run fine. after being in that mode for a few seconds, it will attempt to turn itself back on, but fail and go back into protection in a cycle like that. but if I turn the volume down, it will run fine. please help!

 

Might be bad ground, check your grounds

 

nope, all grounds are bolted to the same part of the body, and the other amp and cap ground are just fine.

 

Is the power wire loose on that amp? i had a problem with mine tonight, It kept cutting out so i looked at it and the power wire had come loose. Check all connections

and maybe turn the gain down on that amp.

 

perhaps the amp is hosed.

 

perhaps you need to charge the cap again
