I have a SOHC VTEC from a 2000 civic and i was wondering how i could reach 180ish horsepower??? would new underdrive pulleys,an air intake, exhaust, headers, and a performance chip be enough?? If not what can i do b/c i do not want to do an engine swap and i do not want to strap a turbo on!

With all the stuff you mentioned, you'd be (Very) lucky if you got 140 crank Hp. You're defintitely going to have to boost it if you don't want to swap.

you guys need to learn how to read, he doesnt want a swap or a turbo so hes stuck with fuel economy without a swap or a turbo you'll have a very very very hard time pushing 180+ without a lot of money. Its not worth it, and its a waste of time in my opinion... boost it

Yea, he is screwed in a sence, even if I had the opportunity to swap the engine out of the 00'. I wouldn't it's to fresh of an engine.

It will cost a lot of money and time. I know of 2 people with full drag crx's that are barely making that much power. They've had their motors custom built; rods, pistons, polish & port, cams, cam gears, intake manifold, custom exhaust manifold, custom exhaust, stand alone, race fuel, etc. I know you don't want to go turbo, but that is the way to go to achieve that much power. The SOHC turbo projects i've been involved usually make atleast 200whp.
