perhaps a dent can be causing the leak from a shift of body panels? i remember my old volvo had major leakage when it was rammed in the back. The panels shifted up so far that my rear doors wouldn't actually close

Where in the trunk is the water sitting? I couldn't find the leak in my Accord, until i figured it was the tailights. I put a bead of silicone around them, and the leak stopped.

Even if it was bumped around your tail light, it can cause it not to sit well. Allowing water to come in.

Well if the water is coming throught the tail light area. Just take some silicone, and put a small bead around where the light. Making so that there is no places for water to get in between where the light meets the car.
