Default exhaust sounds different...

i just installed a dc sports 4-1 header yesterday, and i knew it would be louder, but people said it would also get deeper. i have an apexi n1 and it seems like its more high pitched now. maybe its just cause im not used to it being this loud. is there anything i can do to make it a more deeper tone? is there a different cat that would help? thanks

hi flow cat may help.

Is it a help apex'i n1 cat back or custom with an n1 muffler? Either way you can add a larger resonator.

alright... its really starting to bug me. i have an apexi n1 catback, it has a resonator. before, it was a nice deep growl, not too loud until i really hit it. now, its loud no matter what. and it has a BUZZING sound to it. i really hate that. is there anything i can do to get it back to that deep growl other than putting my stock header back on?

A larger resonator or cat if you don't have one.

Check for exhaust leaks... make sure all donuts and gaskets are properly installed.

What size pipes do you have? A BUZZNG sound usaly means a leak... That can also cause it to be raspy. If I were you I would get a high flow cat. And if that does not make anything better, then get a different resinator... I have a flowmaster 30 series with a 2 1/2" inlet and 3" outlet, with 2 1/2" pipes from the cat back, and my car is not raspy at all, and its nice and deep and when I stomp on it.. Lets just say I can set off a car alarm from a block away (with a D16Z6). And when I want it to be quiet, I just lay off the gas. In my opinion its the best sounding exhaust I have heard on a 4 banger. And it was not even meant for the car..
