Default custom trunk light?

i got a 94 dx coupe and theres no trunk light when i open the trunk. sucks ass when its all dark at night trying to find stuff in there. i know my guage cluster has the open trunk light, when my trunk is opened the light goes on, so i guess theres a + wire for current to go to the cluster, so maybe if i find that + wire and i just ground that with a light bulb, it might work?

I guess you have this one figured out. Is the wire issue only...check if you have the bulb or not?

The one in the cluster is a ground wire (-). I used it in my alarm for the trunk pin sensor (I want to say its blue...but I cant remember)

Just run a wire from that and a positive constant power and you'll be set

Yes. Set. Personally though I found that my trunk light wasn't enough since a lot of times I would end up blocking the light with stuff as I put stuff in or took it out. It was mostly about the position of the bulb IMO. I always thought it should have been mounted closer to the seat.

My point: while your at it check out positions to put it where it will be most useful.

I got 2 trunk lights on my DX. Look for a black wire that goes to the trunk mechanism.

the dark green wire that runs to the trunk mech is ground for your light. Run a wire to constant power through a fuse and you're done.

Yeah, for a hood light just buy one of my $2 alarm pin switches (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1177019 ).
Connect the light's ground to the pin switch and another to constant power....battery.
