'99 Civic Si...should I buy?
Hey all,
There's a stock Si for sale right by my place, and the more I go by it the more I'm tempted to look into buying it. I currently have a '98 Eclipse GS that has quite a few mods and I really love the car. However, I think I might be able to get cheaper monthly loan payments by selling it, and I love the idea of owning another Civic. What are the pros and cons of selling the Eclipse?
PS - I know this is a Honda forum, and I expect to hear the whole "Mitsubishi's suck" line, but I'm looking for useful ideas & suggestions...thanks.

well, im pretty sure the Si is a tad quicker than the eclipse, and it being a honda is also a bit more reliable
id say if its lower payments go for it
its a better car as a base and/or stock for stock IMO
now if you had a gs-t, that be a diff story

Actually I think the the Eclipse is a tad faster due to more low end torque. BUt I could be wrong. I would go with what you think is right. Lower monthly payments is always a plus. But both cars are pretty good starter cars.

well i don't know where you live but around here its only a matter of time that anyone who owns an SI wil have it stolen. Everyone i knew that had one had it stolen.
kinda sucks that you can't have anything nice anymore without some asshole ****ing it up on you

Thanks for the input...I'm so torn about what to do. Like I said, I hate to give up the Eclipse because of all the time and work that's been put into it (full custom suspension, 2-tone custom leather interior, stereo, I/H/E, etc) but starting fresh on a stock Si sounds really appealing. I wish there was a way to own 2 cars, but my income just won't allow it... :wtc:
