Swap without tranny?
A'ight guys. I've been really thinking about doing a swap in my '99 EX Civic now that I have the money. I want to swap out my D16Y for a B16A1 or a B16A2 but I think it'll save me money if I keep my transmission. The thing is, I have an Automatic transmission. I've read up on tranny swaps from Auto to Manual but I think it'll be too much trouble. I'm not looking to make my car a race car (it's a honda Civic ), just give it some more umph when I step on the gas. I could boost it but I dunno how the D16Y would hold up. Let me know what you jokers think.

Why not just get an B18B Ls/Auto Swap? Basically get an LS Automatic integra auto and swap it into your car? Im sure steve over at Hmotors can help you out with that

you cant keep your tranny, you have a D series motor and you want to get a B series your tranny wont fit on the b16 block your going to either swap it from auto to manual or find and LS auto tranny

If you are sticking to a D series...the tranny will most likely be transferable. If you are swapping a B series, the D series tranny will not work.

You will definately need a new tranny if you do a B series swap. In your situation I would probably just go with a low-boost used turbo kit. The motor will hold up just fine, it's your auto tranny that I would be worried about.

OK, so if I'm going to do the B16 swap, I'm going to need a new tranny. Will a LS tranny bolt straight up into my car? I know it'll fit the B16 but is there anymore modification that has to be done where the transmition bolts up to the axles or whatever?

Or if he really wanted to hunt he could try to find a JDM GsR Auto Tranny.
Also just so you know for future reference..
b series components can only interchange with b series,d with d series.
You get the jist of it.
