Default distributor recall?

my roommate told me he thinks the distributor/excitor on 92-95 Civics is on the recall list as in honda covers costs.... any truth to this?

yeah they got me for 1300!!!!!!! my sis had to take the car in while she was in the chicago land area..... the name of the place is BRANDY'S for anybody that lives around palatine/arlington heights/schaumbur area.... dont go to these people they fked us!!!

wtf?!?! $1300...dude you got ripped i picked up the parts from honda for around $100 or so...why did you pay that much?!

umm... I don't quite understand what that has to do with Honda recalling the distributors?? Maybe I missed something..

saying if it was really a recall then i got ripped off 2x - once for how much they charged me and the 2nd for the fact that they charged me at all.... if it is a recall honda would cover the expenses (and do the work themselves)

i know we got ripped off, i didnt realize she spent that much til it was done.... i called and they wouldnt do anything about it.... they charged me more than 500 for the part alone (i can get the same one for 240).... like 100+ for towing, another 100 for diagnosis.... i dont know where the other 600 went..... they insisted on changing my plugs and wires etc.... then when i got it home and took it to my own shop they said the MAP had been fked with..... crazy sheit

they are fawked up...they just go out on you...on mine the coil was fried and it broke the "spring" on it.

The distributors are known to be crappy on the 5th gen's. I had to replace my distributor housing because of a bad bearing at 50k.
