Default Anyone ever used: Lucas Oil Products?

ok.. i saw it at kragen while i was dumping out 10 gals. or used motor oil.. and then i picked up the Lucas Fuel Treatment. i figured at 42K miles.. time to give my baby a fuel treatment or something.. after pouring it in and filling up with 87 Oct Shell Gas.. it felt normal at first.. then after 2 days later.. car is running smooth like a baby. but now i'm thinking perhaps it's just psychological effects only.. right???

then i saw their Lucas Oil Products - Oil Stabilizer: Synthetic; 32 oz. and now wondering if anyone had tried this or perhaps i should stay away from it. i'm running 5w30 mobil 1 synthetics right now. would this be good???

Lucas makes some good shit, but you shouldn't need an oil stabilizer unless you have an old, worn motor. Mobil1 makes a perfecly good synthetic oil and contains its own stabilizers. I experienced the same thing with the fuel treatment. It's now been a couple months and still purrs like a kitten!

I've been to bobistheoilguy.com and as far as oil treatments go, Lucas should be avoided. They show what happens when a lucas oil treatment is added to some gears. It seems like it traps air inside the oil causing it to foam up and change to a lighter color. For oil treatments, they recommended molybdenum disulphide based types like schaeffer's or moly-e by molyslip. I put some moly-e in my '92 civic and so far so good. I haven't noticed much difference. For gas treatments, I'm not sure what's the best.

For the analysis, check out this link:

Good luck.

Default lucas oil treatment

If you want some real good stuff, not really an oil treatment though, try Seafoam. Run some of it before an oil change , some in the gas tank and some through the intake via PCV valve or brake booster line. Man that stuff is GREAT!
If you don't believe me look at other posts for this!

I have seen some of that Seafoam stuff at the parts store, and I looked at it while geting some junk to clean out my TB. I was kinda scared to use it tho, it seems like it may do damage to an older motor with 130k? I would feel better if I knew how this stuff worked, does anyone know?
