Default Rear Disc Conversion

Well, my drums are about dead. Ive been looking around for a disc conversion and all i can find is crappy drilled and slotted rotors that require 17" wheels or bigger. If anything, i just want slotted, drilled is pointless, i also need to be able to use them with 15" wheels. If anyone knows of a company that makes a kit that can use 15" wheels and is either smooth or slotted, let me know

ummmm yeah, are you talking about a rear disc conversion or a big brake conversion?

If youre talking about a rear disc conversion, passwordJDM sells used rear trailing arms and everything attached to do a conversion on your civic. They are stock rear civic si rotors so your 13's - 17's or whatever will fit so I dont really know what youre worried about.

Yeah, im just looking for a rear disc conversion, just basic. The reason i was talking about wheel size is that a lot of aftermarket companies sell these kits that will only work with 17" wheels or bigger b/c of the rotor size.

Thats more than likely because the kits you are finding are big brake kits which require 17"+ rims for clearance. Search around on here and you'll find plenty of lists of what you'll need to do a full drum to rear disc conversion from and then go and snag parts off a integra at a local integra.

Unfortunatly snagging parts off an Integra sounds easy but, when in the junkyards these cars are in high demand. They are All striped down to nothin so for me in Central Florida going to any junkyard is a joke to snag any parts. Im stuck with buying off ebay or luckly finding someone localy selling parts Im looking for which is Very rare.

I just posted this for someone else, here is a write up on the rear drum to disc conversion parts list

Rear Disc Brake Conversion Parts List

These are all OEM Honda Part numbers, that means take them to any Honda dearlership and they can order the parts for you. Most dealerships will not have the parts in stock, you will have to order them. I have also included a general list of what else is needed for the conversion.

Trailing Arms Complete : Used from 92-00 Civic, 94-01 Integra, 93-97 delSol, or 90-93 Integra (these work fine but the bushings are bigger) . Try to get them as complete as possible, at the very least you need the arms, hubs, calipers. Any missing parts can be used from your existing setup. Just about all Civic/delSol/Integra rear disc brakes are identical, so use whatever is available. Check on eBay.com / Salvage Yards / or order from www.passwordjdm.com (about $200)

Right Cable - 47520-SR2-933
Left Cable - 47521-SR2-933
Pins (2 needed) - 43471-SD2-930
Pin Snap (2 needed) - 90705-SD2-931
Pads w/ Shims - 43022-SR2-010
Rotors (2 needed) - 42510-SR3-000
Right Hose - 01466-SR3-903
Left Hose - 01468-SR3-902

You will also need things like brake cleaner, fluid, etc. you can get those at any parts store.

To save some money you can get your parts from local places like AutoZone / AdvanceAuto etc. It is usually cheaper to get the pads and rotors unless you insist on have OEM Honda ones. Another option is upgrading to aftermarket pads/rotors/lines, just make sure to order them for the donar car with rear discs.
