Default brakes

ok, little problem hear, my brakes are squeaking. but they dont always squeak. it seems to me that they squeak only once i have been driving a while, like maybe 15 minutes or so. also, i was washing my car one day and was spraying it down with water and the brakes were smoking (because they were extremely hot) im guessing that this isnt a normal occurence?
any help would be greatly appreciated...im schedule to go to panama city for spring break and would like to bring the "pimp mobile"

Are your pads worn out ? Could be the little metal tab on your pads touching the rotor telling you, "Hey I need replaced"

Do they squeak all of the time? Or just when you brake? If they squeak when u are not on the brake, then you have a rubbing issue, and u need to replace your pads, blead the system, and make sure the pistons have free motion in and out.

they dont squeak all the time. they sqeak for a lil bit then stop but the sqeaking usually stops once the brakes are applied. how would i go about checking the pads to make sure they are ok? do we think i would be ok to go to panama city and back (about 1000 miles round trip)

how miles are on the car? if its been a while since uve had a brake job, i would recommend picking up new pads, and if ur rotors are jacked up replace those too. you could just go to advance autoparts if your in no need of hard braking. but if you want better performance, i would pick up axxis or hawk pads and get some brembo blanks
