relocate radiator to compressor space
So here is an idea I have.
I have a 95 civic LX with no a/c, so there is a large gap right in front of my exhaust manifold. What I would like to do is move my radiator and fan over to that area (In Blue). It looks like I would need a low-profile fan to be able to fit inbetween the exhaust and grill and some adapting of the coolant hoses and power for the electric fan.
This would allow me to run a grill scoop right into a cold air intake. (In Red)
Is it posible to mount the radiator in the compressor spot? Does anyone see any functional problems with this?
Thanks for the help.

Relevance is irrelevant
The coil gets just as much air as the radiator doesn't it?
I'm pretty sure you could do it. I'd even imagine that people who have done engine swaps have done this kind of thing like years ago....
The result wont be much... but it would be a pretty cool DIY mod IMO.

it will really mess up your radiator hoses...they would have to be custom cut, or some kind of ghetto fab thing, because they would then be running in front of the exhaust manifold...so it would either melt them or super heat what is supposed to be cooling your engine.

Heat was one thing I was wroied about. The hoses would be running somewhat close to the exhaust. The other issue is that I would have to modify the mounting system. They use differnet fasteners and locations. I will probaly just take some tools to a junk yard this summer and take a radiator apart on a scrap car and see what exactly it would take.
Do you think there would be a reasonalbe advantage to doing this ram air system with a scoop as opposed to just a standard cold air intake?
