Default need more HP!

I know this is such a noob question...forgive me.

I have a 94 civic lx sedan and i love it. Theres no way im getting rid of it. Just one thing, ITS SLOW. It is very slow. Sometimes its embarrassing when im at a red light and some old broken down car beats me off the line. The only thing i have done to it is a cold air intake and exhaust. Considering i am 17, I am willing to spend a good amount of money on this car, but not too much. I just want to know what would be the best item(s) to get in order to gain more hp and have a decent quick car. My friends tell me to get rid of it because there is no point but i dont listen. I love this car adn i know it has potential. Thanks for all the help.

LOL! It's better than my 95 DX economy ed. that I had XD But actually mine was decently quick cause it didn't have the A/C and PS pump running on the engine and weighing down the car. I used to beat my friends 92 Integra LS up and down the streets at lights and stuff

the only way to go fast with that car is with a swap.

dont bother with the stock engine.

A set of headers and a test pipe will boost some good hp's.

lol he said that he didn't want to spend much money.. WCS has a fully built swap with a turbo setup.. this costs money which he said that he didn't want to spend.

Look, save u'r cash & learn as much as u can about turbo, i'm sure u can build a home made kit for the 500-800 range if u'r smart about it. Good luck bud.

if the cars a 5 speed then u can get it to run alot faster but not to the the point where you be smokeing si's or something. i have a dx coupe and ever since i bought it, i have did about 100 lbs of weight reduction, took off ac belt, ac, add intake, exhaust, grounding kit, 7mm spark plug wires, and gotten lighter wheels. i gotta admit it was alot quicker than i got it, but not to the point where i can beat si's or something...
