Default turbo kits?

ok i have a 95 civic ex. it's is pretty much stock but i am gonna turbo it. I like the edelbrock kit but i amd not sure if i should get it or Greddy. i have see several other kits also. I'm not worried about CARB. i just would like to know which is the best kit to get for good power and decent 1/4 mile times.

if carb isnt an issue and you know what you're doing, try piecing together your own kit

first off, are you mechanically inclined? if you arent then i would suggest not getting a turbo unless you have some friends or something that would work on your car everytime you break something. other than that i would get the edelbrock kit, it has everything you need.

I'd piece together my own kit.........more power and cheaper for the most part...........i might stay away from the ebay special......SS Autochrome because they have sort of a bad rep, but u can piece together a nice kit for relatively cheap

First thing you NEED to do is a compression check. Dropping $2k-$3k on a turbo setup and then dropping a rod and/or piston would suck. Seek ye a Helms manual for guidance.

Some things you may consider replacing before you boost (depending on mileage and up-keep):

1. Water pump and timing belt (possibly oil-pump)
2. Complete tune-up
3. Clutch

That's all I can think of right now.
