I have a CAI, I drive in the rain, I run through puddles, I don't have a bypass valve, but I have my splash guards still in place. I have no problems. I don't go swimming in my civic, but something in me screams that a lot of CAI's are installed improperly or that there are other factors that contribute when this occurs.

BTW: My car is not lowered.

Pull your spark plugs out of the car and try to crank the engine until no more water sprays out. Make sure it comes out of all 4 holes or you may have broken a camshaft, pushrod, or valves. That would not be good as you will be replacing that motor in order to drive your car again.

I would go ahead and swap the engine, put a bypass valve on the new engine along with the cold air and put splash gaurds. In the winter time though take off your cold air and run a short ram.

And then change the oil, put the plugs back in and try it again. If it still won't crank, do a compression test. Don't just replace the engine without troubleshooting (unless you have the money & crave more power)

Yes pull the plugs and get all of that water out of the cylinders. You may have a bent rod.
