Default Braking distance stock vs rear disk conversion

Does anyone have any data comparing a 6th gen stock disk/drum brake setup (with ABS preferrably) vs one that did a rear disk conversion? (please include pad info)?

i doubt anyone will have that kind of instrumented test data here. If you're talking about an EX with abs (10.2" front rotors), the stopping distance probably wont be much shorter. If, however, you're talking about a DX/LX/CX with the dinky little 8.9" front brakes and a front and rear swap, the difference would be dramatic.

BTW, in addition to pad info, you should probably be asking for tire info too.

while we're on the subject of rear disks.....

can I get teg rear discs (just the rear) and use the stock MC/BB with the lx/dx front brakes? I already know lx/dx can accept the teg brakes (both front and rear) with the stock MC and BB, but I don't know if the same is true with just a rear swap....

you can use the dinky MC and booster with a full front/rear swap, no swap or any combination thereof... you just get a little more pedal travel. Likewise, you can use the 15/16" MC and booster for the dinky stock brakes, unnecessary, but harmless.

thats funny, I've heard a few dx/lx/vp guys who slapped some teg discs and brake lines in, and left under the hood alone, and everything was fine....

i'm running the dinky 13/16 right now... its fine, just the pedal is a little sloppier. Actual braking performance is totally unaffected.

The brakes will still work, it's really a preference of how you want the pedal to feel. I would swap the proportioning valve though. Not a must, but it'll balance out the braking and feel a lot more stable (virtually eliminating nose plow when braking). Braking in corners will feel better too.

pretty much any teg/Si MC and booster combo will work the same. I think most EX's have the larger 15/16 MC too. the key is to get a booster and MC that were designed together... meaning a MC from and ABS car must go with a booster from an ABS car, and vice versa. Whether your car is ABS or not doesn't really matter, just that the replacement MC and booster match eachother.
