B18c1 or B16a2 into 1992 Civic dx hatch???
Ive recently purchased a 1992 Civic DX hatchback. Lets just face it 102 hp just isint going to cut it anymore. Im debating on doing a b16a2 swap or a b18c1 swap. The b16 being $2250 and the b18 being $3200 I definetly want to buy the best engine without wasting my money in the long run. I would also like to boost the motor with a t3/t4 in the long run. So basically i would like to know which is the easiest, best swap to do in your own garage. I would also like to know if doing one of the swaps if their are random parts that you need. And also if http://japanstarmotor.com is a good site for their prices or if there are better engine sellers. Thanks
For your 1992, both engines will be a direct bolt in. If your state has strict emission laws, go with the OBD1 B16A3 if you want to go 1.6. Otherwise both engines are a good route to begin with. A turbo B18C1 would be a nice setup. Good luck.

if your certain your going to boost later on, i would probably go with the B18C...with the slightly bigger displacement the turbo should spool a lot faster. Which ever engine u choose, as stated with Darth they're both goods
Definatly the B18c if your planning on boostin it down the road. You'll gain more performance. as far as what to expect, if it's a full swap, you should have everything u need parts wise.
All thats left is to make sure you have all the proper toolz to complete the project. If you haven't done it before & know someone that has, it's nice to have them handy, maybe they can be around for help & moral support
good luck with your project!

hey i have a b16, true no torque, but it still has high potential but if i had to do it all over again, i would gone with a b18c.
