what happens when theres no steering fluid?

right now i dont have a power steering resevoir because it was smashed in the accident. earlier i started the car and everything was fine, but i wanna make sure i wont be doing any damage by doing this.

just wont have power steering, will take some getting used too but you will like it better in the end

nothing would get damanged if you dont have any in, just would be really hard to turn

Maybe someone knows if the ps pump will be happy with the situation. In some pumps the fluid doubles as the lubricant, and running a pump without lubricant is a recipe for disaster.
