Default 94 Civic Door Handle

Hello all.

I would like to install remote power locks on my '94 Civic DX.
However, I've noticed that the drivers side has to be locked using the key.

If I want to install power locks, how would I got around doing this?

Would I have to replace my door handles & locks?

The passenger side door lock is ok.

I have remote door locks on my 93 civic. The doors only need to be locked with the door shut so you wont need to hold open the door latch to lock it.

You could get an alarm where "power locks" could be wired to work with what you have now. You wouldn't need keys to lock/unlock your car, but you don't have the option of locking your car from the inside like a factory power door lock (you have to lock it manually).

Or you could go to a wrecking yard and picking up the parts off an EX civic and get power door locks installed to your doors. This might be a little more difficult as most people that do this get the power windows and doors since the door panels accomodate controls for both.

if you want to lock the driver door without a key, lock the door with the door handle pulled open. It will bypass the anti-locking thing
